Something today suddenly made me remember this:
When I was about ... nine, ten, eleven ... I showed my mother something I had done. A drawing or painting or something like that.
She said she thought it was great. Then she smiled and said, "But then of course, I'm prejudiced!"
I remember distinctly thinking to myself, mystified, "What does my picture being great have to do with not liking black people?"

Priceless! :-D
LOL! Jenny, that is good and another example of how literal kids are :)
THAT EXPLAINS YOUR EXTENSIVE VOCABULARY...YOU GREW INTO IT, DIDN'T YOU?
YOU ARE STILL THE BEST, MY JENNIFER!!!
LOVE FROM YOUR MOM
lol...what a crack-up.
My brother and I used to have drawing competitions, and want mum to judge them- she always said, 'You can't make me choose between my children", and we always felt really miffed. Now my kids do this sort of thing quite regularly, and I say the same thing...and they try so hard to have me choose, and if I do one is miserable (though they assure me that won;t be the case). :0)
