Kids in the Leaves

Robert spend several hours yesterday cleaning up the leaves, and of course the kids had to get in on it.

I guess I didn't have my camera on the best setting, but they're cute pictures nonetheless.

When Benjamin saw what was going on, he ran toward the pile, going, "Me too! Me too!"

Hi Jenny! It was so nice to hear from you on my blog! I can't believe how big your kids have gotten since I last checked your blog!

You know, at times over the last few years, I've wondered if there was a secret Unschoolers Anonymous group out there for those of us who just couldn't stay in the cult any longer. (Kidding on the cult bit -- sort of.)

I think I learned a lot from unschooling. But we're all still human, and too often there didn't seem to be much room for human error. No room for varying personality types and needs. No room for grace. And certainly no room for disagreement and open conversation!

I still think what we do looks pretty unschooly to most homeschoolers. But I'm not above using a curriculum, or saying, "Hey, come sit at the table with me so we can learn something together!" Or, God forbid, ASSIGNING CHORES and insisting that they eat their vegetables!! LOL.

Anyhow, I really appreciate your note!
